Joint Military Family Abuse Shelter

We recently received a letter from the Military Abuse Shelter program thanking us for our annual $500 gift. ‘Support like yours,’ the letter said, ‘has helped to establish the Shelter as one of the best resources the military has to offer its families in crisis.’ MPC also supports the civilian abuse shelter program on Oahu with an identical mission gift each year. MPC families have had to use both shelters over the years. They are there for us, too.

Jesus Video

Remember when MPC helped to buy and distribute the ‘Jesus’ movie to 497,350 homes in Hawaii last year? The nationally distributed newsletter of the Jesus Video Project America newsletter recently had a follow-up article on the Jesus Hawaii Project. The article featured an interview with Pastor Jim who shared how the Jesus Video has been used in our ministry programs, including free distribution at our recent Block Party. The newsletter also highlighted the growing demand for this video in Arab Muslim countries where the movie ‘The Passion of the Christ’ has stirred up an unprecedented interest in Jesus. It is ironic that Mel Gibson’s movie was allowed to be shown in these countries because of the (false) rumors that it was anti-Semitic.
