MPC Community Resource & Service GuidePerhaps some of you have picked up a copy of the free Island Christian Guide in our hallway of the education wing…perhaps you have even contacted a merchant or other service and done business with someone listed. Right here in our own MPC community we have many talented and professional members who would love to offer their gifts to serve. Some of you may have more than one gift or talent or service to offer. These services may be for free, for trade or for sale, or however you may chose to work it. If you would like to participate in a newly available directory of MPC Community Resource and Service, please call or email the following information to Pastor Jim or Laura Pasternak at 623-2393 or email JPaster517@aol.com. Thank you for being a part of and supporting our MPC Ohana as we are the body in Christ serving our Lord. Please include: 1. Type of Service offered Examples of services:

| Join Us - Monthly Work Day | The third Saturday morning of each month is set aside as an MPC Work Day. At 8:30 AM (following the Men's Breakfast that begins at 7 AM).
Everyone, male and female, children and adults are needed to help out with repairs, painting, upkeep and general tidying up around the church. The Facilities Team organizes what needs to be done. |

| Needs/Special Offerings | Twice each year we receive special denominational offeings. On Palm Sunday we receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. This offering is divided up between the Hunger Program, The Self-developement of People Program and The Disaster Assistance Fund. On the Sunday before Christmas, we receive the Christmas Joy Offering. Half of this offering goes to our denomination's racial/ethnic secondary schools & colleges and the other half goes to support the pensions of retired pastors and missionaries whose retirement income is otherwise insufficient. We may also receive other special offerings as emergency needs arise unexpectedly during the year. |

| Small Groups | Small groups are beginning. One small group will be called ‘ Young at Heart ’ and is designed for those single adults interested in fellowship. Please be on the lookout in the upcoming Sunday Bulletin for a date for the initial meeting. The person to contact for any questions or to assist is John Martin. He will coordinate an initial meeting soon. | |
| Men's Group | The Men’s Group is newly forming and will become more active as the year gets into motion. There will be more activities in addition to the Monthly Men’s Breakfast/Workday scheduled on the third Saturday of every month. The monthly men’s breakfast/work day is for men and sons to gather for a hearty meal and fellowship at 7:00 am. Those who are able are invited to stay and assist in work/maintenance needed around the church buildings and grounds. | |
| Moms Need Moms | Moms Need Moms (MNMs) is a wonderful mother’s group. If you have never attended a get-together, you should consider joining this unique fellowship group. There is a monthly ‘mom’s night out’ without children and a monthly ‘moms with kids’ outing. Your children do not have to be small/young; they can be in school of any grade. It is a great time for the ladies to fellowship and share some motherly support and bonding. Upon advanced request, childcare is always made available at the church. | |
