Rev Ronald (Ron) Pfeifer

Reverend Ronald (Ron) Pfeifer, Pastor

Pastor Ron Pfeifer was born and raised in Southern California. He grew up in a Christian family, and accepted Christ as his Savior when he was ten years old.

In high school and college, Ron became increasingly involved in youth ministry and gradually sensed God calling him into a life of vocational ministry. Following that calling led Ron to San Francisco Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1996.

Ron was ordained a Minister of the Word and Sacrament the following year by the Presbytery of Riverside, and his first pastorate was a yoked PC(USA)-UCC parish in the farm country of rural Illinois.

In 2005, God led Ron to the First Presbyterian Church of Othello, Washington – a congregation which he thoroughly enjoyed serving as Solo Pastor for ten years. Ron then went on to serve as the Pastor (Head of Staff) at the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness, Florida, from 2015 to 2020.  Though this was a large, multi-staff parish, Ron has always been a small church pastor at heart.  He loves working closely with people and walking alongside them, serving, and encouraging them in their faith journeys.

While residing in Washington state, Ron met his wife Nan Riddle, who is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and who herself currently serves as Pastor at the First Christian Church of Honolulu and Wahiawa Christian Church. Between them, Ron and Nan’s family includes six grown children and four grandchildren.

Ron first visited Hawai’i with his grandparents, parents and younger sister as a youngster, and throughout his life has returned to the Islands more times than he can count. He loves the beauty and diversity of the cultures and peoples who call Hawai’i home, and after three years here at MPC he feels incredibly blessed, humbled and honored to serve as the Pastor of the warm and wonderful ‘ohana which our church and preschool together are.

Ron is grateful to God for bringing our church and preschool safely through the pandemic, and he is excited to see what the Lord will do next in, with, and through us all as we “glorify God, know and serve Jesus Christ, and live and share the good news.”
